RUTH MITCHELL
RUTH MITCHELL, 1919-2000, (Assistant to Mr. Prince) was associate producer of several Prince hits, including A Little Night Music, Follies, Company, Superman, Zorba, and Pacific Overtures. Assistant director on The Phantom of the Opera, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Show Boat, and also the revivals of Cabaret and Evita, she directed companies of West Side Story, Cabaret, A Little Night Music, Fiddler on the Roof, and Evita, and was assistant director on the film A Little Night Music. She began her association with Mr. Prince as PSM on West Side Story and continued in that capacity on every Prince show through Fiddler on the Roof. Prior to her work with Mr. Prince, she was production stage manager for Mister Roberts, The King and I and Gypsy.
