Tony Award winner George C. Wolfe and Sarah Jessica Parker are among the artists appointed by President Barack Obama to the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.
As previously reported, veteran Tony-winning producer Margo Lion and director-producer George Stevens, Jr. are co-chairs of the committee that includes NYU Tisch School of the Arts dean Mary Schmidt Campbell as vice chairman.
In addition to Wolfe and Parker, Variety reports that President Obama has also named committee members Edward Norton, Kerry Washington, Forest Whitaker, Damian Woetzel, Alfre Woodard, Yo-Yo Ma, Anna Wintour, Teresa Heinz, Bryan Lourd, Liz Manne and Andy Spahn.
Panel members work with the president and federal agencies on various cultural issues, while raising public awareness of the White House's cultural endeavors and the arts.
