Gleason, Anderson, Powers, Stevens, Dykstra and More Set for TRU Love Benefit

Tony-winning actress Joanna Gleason, Nancy Anderson, Jenny Powers and Fisher Stevens are among the performers aligned for the Ninth Annual TRU Love Benefit on Nov. 8.

TRU (Theater Resources Unlimited) presents the annual benefit that honors Elysabeth Kleinhans of 59E59 Theaters, who will receive the Spirit of Theater Award, and Allan Buchman of Culture Project, who will be presented with the TRU Humanitarian Award.
Running from 12-4 PM, the theme of the event is "Opening Doors" and promises to feature selections from works developed by TRU members, as well as highlights of productions that were produced at 59E59 Theaters and the Culture Project.
Among the performances are Gleason, Stevens and Ramsey Faragallah reading a selection of The Exonerated and Guantanamo ; Powers performing a selection from the upcoming Broadway musical Pure Country ; while Anderson will perform a selection from Yank! , which is set to play the York Theatre in 2010.
Additional highlights include a song from Gutenberg the Musical ; Mark Mozingo and Eli Zoller performing selections from Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge ; and writer/actor Brian Dykstra presenting Clean Alternatives .
The event, held at Carolines on Broadway, begins with a cocktail reception at 12 PM, followed by a full luncheon at 1 PM and performances and awards honors at 2 PM. For tickets, beginning at $100, visit TRUOnline.
