Murney, Keenan-Bolger, Burgess and Colella Join Sonnet Sings the Bard at 92YTribeca

Songs by Tony winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, as well as David Shire and Georgia Stitt, will be featured as part of Sonnet Sings the Bard at the 92YTribeca on Nov. 16.



Seth Rudetsky will host the 6 PM Sonnet Repertory Theatre event that enlists various composers to pen original songs inspired by the Bard's work.

Scheduled to perform are Julia Murney (Wicked, The Wild Party), Celia Keenan-Bolger (Les Miserables, Spelling Bee), Tittuss Burgess (Guys And Dolls, The Little Mermaid), Jenn Colella (High Fidelity, Urban Cowboy), Lawrence Clayton (Bells Are Ringing, The Civil War), Jimmy Ray Bennett ("The Extended Family"), Lynne Wintersteller (Closer Than Ever, A Grand Night for Singing) and musician Marshall Coid (Chicago).

Rick Hip Flores will musical direct the evening that features songs by Shaiman and Wittman (Hairspray, Catch Me If You Can), Shire (Closer Than Ever, Baby, Big), Stitt (Big Red Sun, The Water, "This Ordinary Thursday"), Ray Leslee (Avenue X), Wad McColllum (One), Karl Mansfield (conductor of Broadway's Xanadu, Coram Boy, Sweet Charity) and Fantasticks cast member Steve Routman.
