Celebrity Choice Review
Curtis Holbrook (Action in West Side Story) chooses: Rosie O'Grady's
It doesn’t have to be a special occasion to dine at this theatre-district stalwart, a steak and seafood house family owned and operated for 35 years. Manager/host Noel Leydon says, “We’ve kept prices affordable because dining out shouldn’t be a luxury.” The open kitchen grills prime filet mignon, boneless rib, New York cut sirloin and 24-oz. T-bone and porterhouse steaks at 2,200 degrees and finishes them in the oven. The pan-fried Maryland crab cakes (with lobster sauce), lobster ravioli, grilled jumbo shrimp with scallop risotto, sea scallops, Norwegian salmon and Maine lobster are all superb. Entrées also include braised spring lamb shank, Irish beef stew, fish and chips, and shepherd’s pie. Rosie’s has a fully-stocked bar with 14 beers, including Guinness stout on tap, plus premium Irish whiskeys, such as Tullamore Dew.
